Gay Men’s Production and Management of personality on Grindr

Abstract

This study explores gay men’s production and management of character on Grindr. A sample of homosexual guys is questioned and so the information were examined using Interpretative Phenomenological test. These templates include outlined: (1) designing and re-constructing personal information on Grindr; (2) bolstering sex-related self-efficacy; (3) controlling on the web and offline identities. Regardless of the noticeable societal mental benefits of geospatial gay social media services, the stresses of coercive norms regarding the application not to mention seen “addiction” this may lead to threats to identity, therefore frustrating friendly and emotional well-being.
