Three Quick Steps for Bathing a Kitten
Are you the proud owner of a kitten? It’s always a good idea to start bathing them early on in life, so that they’re used to it as they age. Use these three steps from your Ashburn, VA veterinarian to bathe your young feline friend:
Fill the tub or sink with about an inch of lukewarm water, testing it to make sure it’s not too hot. Gather your feline-formulated shampoo, an empty cup, and a few soft towels near your bathing spot. You’ll also want to keep a few kitten treats on hand.
Rinse and Lather
Place your kitten in the water, steadying her with one hand, then use your cup to pour lukewarm water over her fur. Take care to avoid the face. Now, dab a small amount of shampoo onto your hand and begin lathering it through kitty’s coat.
Rinse and Dry
Once your kitten is thoroughly shampooed, it’s time to rinse her off with more lukewarm water. Now, dry her off with the towels and offer her a treat or two for a job well done!
