When it comes to bathing, starting your kitten off early is your best bet. This way, your cat grows up with bath time as a normal part of life! Here, your Glendale, AZ vet tells you how to bathe your young feline companion:
Gather Your Supplies
First, gather everything you’ll need by the bathtub or sink where you’ll be bathing Fluffy. Include a feline-formulated shampoo (available at pet supply shops and certain retail outlets), a large towel, and a few cat treats.
Wet and Shampoo
Put about an inch of lukewarm water in the base of the sink or tub, and gently place your kitten into it. Offer a few treats to help keep her calm. Now, wet her coat with more lukewarm water. Next, dab a small bit of the shampoo onto your hand and start massaging it through the fur, taking care to avoid the face.
Rinse, Dry, and Reward
Once your kitten has been thoroughly shampooed, rinse her coat completely with fresh water. Dry her off with the towel, and offer a few more treats for a job well-done!
